Isabella has been sewing for almost her entire life and gained expertise as a professional stage artist in Germany, where she also worked in the costume department, creating costumes. Her discovery of bra making sparked an obsession, and mastering the art of sewing bras that perfectly fit her body became one of the most liberating moments in her sewing career. Isabella now travels the world, spreading the joy of creating clothes that are not only beautiful but also well-fitted. She hosts online bespoke tailoring workshops and shares sewing tutorials on her Instagram and YouTube channels.
Sewing your own bra may seem intimidating, but Isabella is here to change that perception! In this class, she will focus on teaching you how to fit and sew a bra tailored to your body. The curriculum includes a deep dive into bra sizing, material functionality, fitting techniques, and pattern modifications. You will learn tips and tricks for crafting a clean, finished bra that looks as good on the inside as it does on the outside.
Every participant will have the opportunity for a one-on-one fitting with the instructor. Together, you will assess the fit and make necessary modifications to your paper pattern. While fittings require a certain amount of personal exposure, rest assured that they are entirely private and conducted with the utmost care and respect. Alternatively, you may choose to assess the fit on your own—whatever makes you feel comfortable!
This class is designed for intermediate to advanced sewists. You should be familiar with using a sewing machine and feel confident in handling small, slippery pieces of fabric. While some understanding of pattern modification is helpful, you will receive step-by-step guidance on how to modify your paper pattern. Upon completion of Bra Camp, you will leave with new skills, knowledge, and, perhaps, some bosom friends! All materials are included.
