Most of our students arrive at Sew FYI with no sewing experience at all. After their first 2 hours in class, they learn how to thread a home sewing machine, run it, adjust the settings, and complete their own tote bag. It may seem very daunting and unfamiliar if you’re trying to operate a sewing machine alone with no guidance or prior knowledge. What a strange-looking piece of machinery, right? Well, never fear, you don’t have to do it alone! We’re here to help. And--there are plenty of friends in Los Angeles who are fun and talented, looking to learn or improve their sewing skills along with you.
The fun doesn’t stop there! After your first class with us, come back for more on our discounted Beginner’s Package and build your foundational skills by trying various projects. You’ll learn how to put lining into a project and how to sew in a zipper, plus many more.
If you’re looking for something more specific, we offer private lessons in which an instructor will personally guide you through your project. Some of our students started with the Beginner’s Workshop and is now featured in LA Fashion Week with their own clientele.
